Title
Proposal of Bipath Persistent Homology: Visualization, Algorithm, and Stability
Abstract
Persistent homology is one of the main tools in topological data analysis. It captures the persistence of topological features across a
filtration by a collection of intervals, or equivalently, a persistence diagram. This tool allows us to study hidden structures in
data and has been applied to various fields, such as materials science, evolutional biology and others.
In this talk, I will propose bipath persistent homology as an extension of persistent homology. It can be used to study the persistence of topological features across a pair of filtrations connected at their ends. Such pairs may be obtained, for example, from multiparameter data or from cyclical data. In addition,
I will introduce our recent work on bipath persistent homology, including bipath persistence diagrams and their computational algorithm and stability properties.
